Graduate of Syracuse University
William Cecio is a recent graduate from Syracuse University with a Food Studies major and Geography minor. He is interested in food justice issues of access, labor, race, and economic inequality including their relationship with agriculture, and environmental sustainability. Cecio studies how space and place influence food empowerment, specifically how political economy and urban development effect food initiatives such as food policy councils and urban gardening, and vice versa. He also explores the linkages between urban and rural planning and food systems and its impact on community food systems planning.
